Massage Prices in 2026: What the Chains Actually Charge — and Why the Membership Is the Real Price
Standard 60-minute session unless noted, before tax and tip. This category runs on monthly memberships — the single-visit price is mostly there to sell you the plan.
Observed & compiled: August 2026 · re-checked monthlyAdded 31 August 2026 (chain-level update — the category date above is unchanged on purpose). Spavia re-checked, and it moves from “carried forward” to “checked, still unpublished”, which makes it seven of ten. Its membership page names all three tiers and the treatments each one buys, and prices none of them. What it does publish is the full contract, and we have written it out on its card below: three-month minimum, 30 days’ written notice to cancel, rollovers good for 12 months but one per month, and a 50% charge if you cancel inside 24 hours with no treatment left. This category is now part of our price-transparency audit.

Massage Heights (Heights Wellness Retreat)
Now trading as Heights Wellness Retreat (Elevated Brands Franchising). Franchise — rates vary by location and posted rates reflect the first-time-guest rate. Some locations advertise a three-year rate lock once you join.
Massage Green Spa
Franchise; the infrared sauna is the differentiator. Plan mix and pricing vary by location.
Hand & Stone Massage and Facial Spa
Franchise; each membership covers one 60-min massage OR signature facial per month. handandstone.com published no price on 17 Aug 2026 — it says “one low price each month” and “call or visit your local spa”, so the figures above are observed at franchise level, not corporate-published. Corporate now advertises month-to-month with no long-term commitment, plus prepaid 3/6/12-month terms.
LaVida Massage
Franchise (LaVida Massage, Skincare & Wellness). lavidamassage.com published no price on 17 Aug 2026 — it states the monthly fee “is dependent upon the Benefits Program you join” and varies by location. Membership covers one 60-min custom session monthly, available the same day each month, plus unlimited additional sessions at a discounted rate.
Massage Envy
Every clinic is an independent franchise, so prices swing by region: South ~$60–$85, Northeast ~$70–$100, West Coast ~$85–$110. massageenvy.com published no rate on 17 Aug 2026 — check with the franchised location. Watch the term: corporate states membership starts with a 12-month commitment and renews monthly after that. Unused credits are forfeited after you cancel.
MassageLuXe
Franchise; month-to-month, no contract, and unused hours roll over while the membership is in good standing. A Family tier now exists too — two monthly services shared between two people in one household. massageluxe.com published no tier prices on 17 Aug 2026 (“services and prices may vary by location”), so the dollar figures above are observed. HydroLuXe is the bundled perk that separates it from the pack.
Elements Massage
Franchise; the member rate applies to unlimited sessions that month. Three terms confirmed on the corporate page 17 Aug 2026: unused sessions carry over for a full year, the membership can be shared with one other person, and the operator may raise your monthly rate on 30 days’ written notice — a membership price is not a fixed price. No dollar figure is published nationally, so the rates above are observed.
Spavia Day Spa
What Spavia does publish is the contract, and that is where the decisions are. Three-month minimum you cannot cancel, then month-to-month with 30 days’ written notice to leave. Unused monthly treatments roll over for 12 months while you stay active, but only one rollover can be redeemed in any month. Cancel an appointment inside 24 hours and the treatment counts as used — and if you have none left, you are billed 50% of the regular price. Membership can be suspended up to three months a year. Non-refundable and non-transferable, though one family member or partner can be designated to redeem under Family Share. All tiers include 10% off boutique and waxing, $15 off upgraded treatments and 50% off boosts. Single 60-min observed around $99–$129 for non-members. Re-verified first-party 31 August 2026: still no published price.
The NOW Massage
Design-forward boutique brand; à la carte prices sit above the franchised membership chains but below the full day spas. thenowmassage.com serves prices only through a JavaScript location picker as of 17 Aug 2026, so no rate could be read from the page — the $85/50-min and $115/80-min member figures are reported, not confirmed. Members can transfer up to 3 massages a year (6 if visiting twice monthly) and extend their member rate to a first-time guest.
Woodhouse Spa
Upscale day-spa chain and the ceiling of this category. Prices vary by location and treatment. Not individually re-checked in the August cycle — carried forward from July.
The four things worth knowing before you book a massage
- This is a membership business, not a per-visit one. The honest number is the monthly rate — about $69.95 at Massage Green Spa up to $99.99 at Massage Heights on a short term. The $99–$135 "non-member" single price mostly exists to make joining look mandatory.
- Most of these chains have stopped publishing what they charge. As of August 2026, Massage Envy, Hand & Stone, MassageLuXe, Elements, LaVida and The NOW all publish no membership price on their corporate sites — you get "one low monthly price" and a phone number. Every figure on this page for those six is marked observed, because a number we found at a franchise is not the same thing as a number the chain stands behind.
- Two membership shapes, and the difference matters. Some chains bank a monthly credit (Massage Envy, Hand & Stone, Massage Heights, Massage Green); others just give you a discounted per-visit rate with nothing to lose if you skip a month (Elements, LaVida). If you go irregularly, the per-visit-rate model wastes less.
- Three traps hide in the fine print. Credits that expire or are forfeited when you cancel, a one-time enrollment fee (~$49, often waivable), and a 30-day-notice cancellation window. Ask about all three before you sign.
- Boutique and luxury are a different market. The NOW (~$115 for 50 minutes) and Woodhouse ($120–$240 à la carte) price above the franchised chains and mostly skip the monthly-credit game — you pay for the room, not the plan.
