Found something wrong? Tell us.
We spend a lot of this site asking you to check our work. Until this week there was no way to tell us what you found — which is a silly thing to miss on a site about paying attention to details. Fixed.
One address, for all of it
corrections@everydaypriceindex.comA person reads it. No form to fill in, no newsletter, no marketing list — we don't have one to add you to.
If we got a price wrong
Please tell us. We'd much rather be corrected than be quoted while we're wrong, and we've got a habit of saying so out loud when it happens.
Two recent ones: in August we admitted that Petco doesn't publish the size-based price ladder we'd credited it with — we'd repeated someone else's number without checking. Same month, we found we'd listed a massage membership $30 too low, and published the arithmetic proving our own figure had been stale the day we printed it. Both corrections are still sitting on those pages with dates on them. We didn't quietly swap the numbers out and hope nobody noticed.
If there's a category we should be covering
Tell us that too. What gets built next is genuinely shaped by what people ask for, because there's no sense guessing when someone will just say it.
The bar is simple: something ordinary people buy over and over from national chains, where the chains make the price annoyingly hard to find. So far that's oil changes, haircuts, car washes, gyms, storage units, massage and dog grooming. Tax prep and urgent care are next on our own list — but a request from a real person beats our guesswork, so if it's something else, say so.
If you want to use the data
Go ahead — you don't need to ask. The whole thing is free to download under CC BY 4.0. Republish it, chart it, feed it to a model, build something on top of it. Crediting us is the only condition.
We'd still like to hear from you, for one practical reason: we decide which categories to re-check first based on what people actually use, and right now we're guessing. If you're a journalist, a researcher, or building something with it, one line by email genuinely changes what we prioritise.
Things we can't do
- We can't book or quote your appointment. We don't work for any of these chains and none of them pay us. Everything here is a sanity check on whether a price sounds fair — for an actual quote, you'll need to call the location.
- We don't sell placement. No chain has ever paid to be listed here, to rank higher, or to be written about more kindly, and none ever will. If that ever changes, it'll be said on this page before anywhere else.
- We won't make a number up. When a chain doesn't publish a price, we tell you that and show a range we've seen instead — even though a confident-looking figure would do better in search. That rule is the entire point of the site.
