Car Wash Membership Prices in 2026: Twelve Chains, Unlimited Plans Compared
Monthly unlimited plans, one vehicle. Single washes run $8–$25 — memberships break even around 2–3 washes a month. Note: most chains here are express (exterior-only); Autobell, Crew, Delta Sonic and Cobblestone sell full-service tiers that include interior cleaning, so their higher prices aren't apples-to-apples.
Observed & compiled: 21 September 2026 · re-checked monthlyWe opened nine of these twelve chains on their own websites this month, and only two of them publish a price you can read. Whistle Express publishes a full national ladder ($23 Clean / $29 Shine / $34 Protect / $39 Fortify). Cobblestone publishes sixteen prices — eight monthly rates and the single-wash price of each. The other seven publish nothing, or nothing without a ZIP code.
Two chains on this page turned out to be one company. Whistle Express bought Driven Brands' entire U.S. car wash business — Take 5 Car Wash — for $385 million, closing in April 2025. We had them listed as separate competitors for seventeen months. take5carwash.com now redirects to the unrelated Take 5 Oil Change site.
We withdrew two of our own claims. ZIPS' $14.95 entry rate, which we called the cheapest unlimited plan of any national chain here, is not published by ZIPS anywhere on its own site — it came from a price guide, and it is now labelled observed. The "nearly 4x spread" line rested on aggregator figures at both ends and has been replaced with the span you can actually read: $21 to $53, both at Cobblestone. GO Car Wash's four tier prices and Autobell's four are likewise not published by those chains and are now labelled observed.
Verified unchanged: all four Cobblestone figures we already held were correct. Carried forward and not re-checked: Clean Freak and Delta Sonic. Attempted and unreadable: Crew Carwash — its pages returned only a cookie dialog, so we have left its audit blank rather than guess.

Quick Quack Car Wash
Correction, 21 September 2026. This card used to say Quick Quack "publishes plan pricing more openly than most." It does not. The plans page renders everything — navigation, benefits, twenty-seven customer testimonials, footer — and where the four plans belong it prints "Initializing plans …" and then "Please enable JavaScript to continue using myQQ." Prices load from a portal and are scoped to a ZIP code, so there is no national rate. The figures above are observed from price guides, not published by Quick Quack.
Mister Car Wash (partial)
Largest chain in the country; your ZIP code decides your price. Its Unlimited Wash Club page describes Base, Platinum and Titanium in real detail — which wax, which protectant, what each includes — and prices Platinum/Titanium nowhere. Updated 28 September 2026: Mister DOES publish a price when raising one — mistercarwash.com/base-membership-notice/ states, first-party, "Starting February 2nd, 2025 ... we are updating the price of your Base Exterior membership from $19.99 to $22.99 per month" for five named regions (Albuquerque NM, Farmington NM, Tampa FL, Lakeland FL, Southeast Florida). Reclassified not_published → partial. A similar lead on Titanium pricing ($36.99→$39.99 national, $34.99→$39.99 Texas) remains unconfirmed — the three matching notice pages returned access errors on every attempt; that is the named debt for next cycle.
Zips Car Wash
Correction, 21 September 2026. We used to flag $14.95 as the cheapest unlimited entry tier of any national chain here. That figure comes from a price guide, not from ZIPS — and we have withdrawn the claim. The ZIPS memberships page renders in full, comparing all five tiers (Basic, Basic Plus, Pro, Premier, ZIPS One) across twelve named services, and contains no price for any of them. Also published: membership is tied to one vehicle by plate or RFID and cannot be transferred or resold; up to two washes a day; 180+ locations.
Take 5 Car Wash (now owned by Whistle Express)
Correction, 21 September 2026, and it is a correction to the shape of this page. Driven Brands sold its entire U.S. car wash business — Take 5 Car Wash — to Express Wash Operations, LLC, trading as Whistle Express Car Wash, for $385 million. The deal closed on 10 April 2025 and is confirmed on the seller's own newsroom. So two of the twelve "competing" chains on this page have been the same company for seventeen months, and we did not notice. Our old note here said Take 5 Car Wash was a sibling of Take 5 Oil Change; that was true until April 2025, and we wrote it in July 2026. Take 5 Oil Change was kept by Driven Brands and is now unrelated. Every take5carwash.com address we tested, including individual location pages, redirects to the oil-change site. The figures above are observed and date from July 2026.
Tommy's Express
Its own FAQ asks "How much does a membership cost" and answers, in full: "Plan pricing varies by location." Choosing a plan is step four of a six-step app signup that starts with your contact details and your vehicle. The figures above are observed. Conveyor entry with licence-plate scanning.
GO Car Wash
Correction, 21 September 2026. We listed these four tier prices partly on the authority of GO's own membership page. We re-read that page this month and none of them are on it. It renders completely — benefits, three prepaid-plan cards, a licence-plate-recognition explainer, location search, footer — and the section headed "Get More Washes for Less" carries the subheading "Pricing Varies By Location" above an embedded checkout form. The figures are now observed. New from the visit: 156 locations.
Whistle Express Car Wash
The only chain on this page publishing a complete national ladder, and it says so in words as well as in a table: "plans start at $23 a month for the Clean plan and go up to $39 a month for the Fortify plan," with the honest caveat that exact prices vary by location. This replaces the $19.98–$23 entry band we carried. Whistle also now owns Take 5 Car Wash, having bought Driven Brands' U.S. car wash business for $385 million in April 2025. One small inconsistency on its own page, noted because this site is about what chains publish: it claims both "240+ locations" and "all 200+ Whistle Express locations" in different sections.
Clean Freak Car Wash
Arizona express chain (Phoenix, Tucson and statewide), part of the Circle K family. The gas-pump perk is unique in this group — worth real money if you already fuel at Circle K.
Cobblestone Auto Spa (hybrid)
The most transparent chain in this category, and it is not close. Cobblestone publishes sixteen prices on one page: every unlimited tier on both its ladders and the single-wash price of each, so you can do your own break-even before you sign anything. All four figures we already held were re-checked this month and were correct. It publishes the contract too: cancel at least seven days before your billing date and after the first full month, no refunds for partial months, and a membership bought in Colorado is valid only in Colorado. Four-state operator, not a national one; the Colorado sheet was not re-read this cycle.
Autobell Car Wash (full-service)
$-.--, and the only call to action is "Download the Autobell App to Start Washing."The strangest artifact we found this month. Autobell's page is headed "Premier Unlimited Plans" and lists four of them — Quality, Exterior, Full Service and Super — each with a careful feature list running to as many as thirteen bullet points. The price under every single one reads $-.--. Not hidden behind a location picker, not behind a login: rendered on the page as a placeholder. Four plans, four dashes. The figures above were partly taken from price guides and are now labelled observed. Southeast full-service chain; once interior service is in the plan it is not comparable to express-exterior rivals.
Crew Carwash (full-service)
We could not read this one, and we would rather say so. Crew's Unlimited Club page and its FAQ both returned nothing but a cookie dialog when we tried this month, so we never actually saw the page — which is different from a chain publishing nothing, and we have left its audit blank rather than guess. There is a reported single rate of $44.99/month circulating, which would be a large move against both figures above; we are not adopting it while the page is unread. First thing we look at next cycle. Figures above carried forward from July 2026.
Delta Sonic (full-service)
Northeast (NY-centric) full-service operator with gas, detailing and food at many sites. Priciest base of the group.
The membership math nobody does
- You often cannot do this maths at all, and that is the finding. Only two of the twelve chains here publish a monthly rate you can read, and only Cobblestone also publishes the single-wash price you would need to compare it against. Everywhere else the break-even calculation is something you can only run after you have signed up.
- Break-even is 2–3 washes a month. Monthly price ÷ your single-wash price. Below that, you're subsidizing everyone else's memberships.
- Express and full-service aren't the same product. A $20 express plan cleans the outside; a $45 full-service plan (Autobell, Crew, Delta Sonic) vacuums and wipes the inside too. Don't compare the sticker prices without comparing what's in the bay.
- The promo rate is not the price — and at most of these chains it is the only number you are given. ZIPS advertises $20 add-a-vehicle and 40% off; Tommy's advertises a free month and $5 off your fifth wash; GO advertises buy-eleven-get-one; Quick Quack advertises 60% off a first month. None of them publishes the rate being discounted. Calendar the renewal date the day you sign up.
- Cancellation is where they make money. In-app cancellation exists but win-back offers appear the moment you try. Use that as a negotiation button.
- Top tiers sell ceramic/wax coatings weekly. Fine for gloss lovers; the $16/month gap between base and top tier buys a lot of nothing if you just want a clean car.
